DPRK Health Minister Speaks at 70th World Health Assembly
Kang Ha Guk, minister of Public Health and head of the DPRK delegation, delivered a speech at the 70th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland on May 24.

The DPRK’s consistent health policy is to make everyone benefit from universal free medical care and health facilities serve the patients devotedly, and, especially, take special care of children he noted, referring to last year’s preferential construction of health facilities, nurseries, kindergartens and schools in the flood-affected northern areas of the country and the recent renovation of the baby homes, orphanages and primary and middle schools for orphans in the country.

He stressed that the sustainable development goals for the promotion of humankind’s well-being would never be implemented unless an end is put to high-handedness and arbitrariness of putting political, military and economic pressure on other countries while regarding their political systems with hostility by unilateral standards and views.

He added the DPRK government would continue to closely cooperate with WHO and different countries to attain the health-related targets of the sustainable development goals.
