Detroit Delegation to Report on Jackson, MS Summit and New Orleans March Demanding 'Right of Return'

A special MECAWI meeting will be held on Wed. Dec. 14 where the Detroit delegation to the Katrina survivors/supporters conference in Jackson MS and the Human Rights Day demonstration in New Orleans which took place between Dec. 8-10 will report back.

Please join us in hearing these first hand accounts of the growing struggle to win justice for Katrina suvivors. Hundreds of thousands of people have been scattered across the country in the aftermath of the Hurricane Katrina where the government failed to protect and secure the peoples of New Orleans and the Gulf region.

People were forced from their homes due to neglect and outright military action. This is one of the worse humanitarian crises in the world today. These actions are sanctioned and implemented by the Bush administration. You can be certain that the newspapers and television reports will not give you this important uncensored information.

Please join us at 7:00 p.m. Wed. Dec. 14 at 5922 Second Avenue, Detroit. This meeting is free and open to the general public.
